​Utterly Hooked Designs is a small business which specialises in the designing and selling of bespoke latch hook kits. The business is run by myself; Clare Utley with the valuable support of my wonderful Hubby! Every one of my designs is an original and is taken from my first sketches, drawing on my PC using software, through to the finished kit by me. We are based in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park on our farm and have three now grown up children (all now married!), four grandchildren, our two Patterdale Terriers and lots of other animals.

Here at Utterly Hooked we love everything Latch Hook and because of this we aim to give you a superior experience.  All our kits contain high quality 'Super Latch' pre cut yarn. This gives a fabulously soft finish in a fantastic range of colours. 'Super Latch' yarn is thicker than all other pre cut yarns giving you a denser and more durable finish that is lovely to curl your fingers and toes into! In each of our kits you will find top quality rug canvas, yarn, full colour chart (can be printed larger, if needed. Please request this in 'notes to seller' at check out to avoid extra cost), full instructions and even a wooden latch hook with your first kit. All our kits are made up to order so please allow 3-5 working days before dispatch especially during busy periods. I stitch all the complete cushion covers and Christmas stockings myself. It certainly keeps me out of mischief!

Also in our 'Rug Supplies' category we can offer you latch hook rug making accessories. This includes pre cut Super Latch yarn, rug canvas, rug binding and latch hook tools. All of the same lovely quality that you will find in our kits that we pride ourselves on.

I started Utterly Hooked as I felt latch hooking had somehow lost its way and had become an under valued craft. I was dissatisfied with the quality of projects and yarn that were being produced and if I felt this way then maybe others did too. Latch hooking was being passed over as its reputation had been spoiled where as not long ago it was huge and many households had a rug completed by a family member and still do! I enjoy creating contemporary designs with a twist on the classic and aim to introduce brand new crafters to try out this super simple craft whilst hopefully inspiring the already experienced.

If you have never latch hooked before or don't even consider yourself to be 'crafty' do not despair. Everyone can learn and I mean everyone; from as young as seven to as old as you feel. The rhythmic movement of latch hooking is a great stress reliever. You don't need mountains of expensive equipment or to waste time setting everything up. You can pick it up and put it down and not worry about where you left off. You can do it on your knee whilst watching the television or at a table, listening to the radio or you can be among friends and family and even get them involved. You can hook whilst dinner's in the oven, you're waiting for Top Gear to start or in the garden in the sunshine, like I am doing! It doesn't even matter if you are right or left handed.
