Imaginative Sensory Latch Hook Play Mat Kit
So Green fields grew with a River running through, a little island and an old log as a bridge and stepping stones. A little beach and reeds by the waters edge with wildflowers dotted here and there. A hedge with a Wheat field and Poppies and another field just mown. Grasses and Moss of all kinds and boulders near by.
I designed this Play Mat for one of our Granddaughters. I looked at loads of examples to see what was out there first and thought they were all quite restrictive. I wanted a design that could be turned into anything, a farm, dinosaur land, Safari, camp site, a Dolls House garden. It needed to be flexible for the child's imagination to grow and definitely sensory. Those that have seen this mat have been unable to stop themselves from running their hands through it and touch the hedges and reeds by the river.
The kit includes everything you need to produce this Play Mat in a rectangle form. If you would like to give it the rounded corners and a organic shape like I have done, then the design chart also shows you which edge to follow. I also bound my mat in Black to protect the turned edges (rug binding videos for both straight and unusual shaped latch hook kits can been seen below). I also popped a loop and button on so that you can roll it up and put it away easily but this not essential.
